Interactive theatre for children
Once upon a time in a land far away, there was a town called Hamelin. The town was suffering from a rat infestation when a man dressed in ‘pied’ appeared, claiming to be a rat-catcher and promising the townspeople a solution to their rat infestation problem. The Mayor, in turn promised to pay him for the removal of the rats. The Pied Piper played a musical pipe to lure the rats out of the village and demanded a large sum of money for his services. The Mayor refused and the Piper left the village, very upset and seeking revenge....... Of course we can’t give away too much but in Jally Production’s modern version of the traditional story the children are in for a great fun day with the Pied Piper.
A colourful cast of characters includes: Mayor Hoffman, a totally incompetent, but well meaning official, Veronica, the delightful school teacher of Hamelin and her daughter, Gretel plus of course The Pied Piper and his very clever assistant, Trudy, who has a few tricks of her own to share. In this delightful participation play, children become villagers, school children and those pesky rats.
Jally Productions have once again assembled a fine cast of Sunshine Coast actors for this favourite children's classic including Tim Page, Alli Pope and Matt Dunstan.
Make sure you hang around after the show to meet your favourite characters and don’t forget to bring your camera …!!
The magic created is incredible!

Australia’s Premier Theatre Touring Company, HIT Productions is pleased to announce the 2008 – 2009 national 63 week tour of Jeanie Linders’ Menopause the Musical.
Inspired by ‘a hot flush and a bottle of wine,’ Jeanie Linders created the hilarious musical as a celebration of a life passage that launches women into an exciting new phase of their lives. Do you think that 500,000 Australian women could be wrong? We don’t think so. After all, that is the number who have seen this hilarious show over the last two and a half years – and they love it! So much so, many of the audience members have come back time and time again to join with their sisters in this 90 minute, one act laugh-a-thon. Maybe the attraction is the songs that everyone grew up with – The Great Pretender, Only You, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Stand by Your Man, I Will Survive and twenty more – all sung with gusto and all with their ‘new’ lyrics. Or maybe it is the realisation that there is a wonderful life waiting after ‘The Change’. Come and see for yourself. We guarantee that you will leave the theatre uplifted and joyous.
Jeanie Linders’ Menopause the Musical boasts the accomplished talents of Director Gary Young.
“It’s impossible not to laugh.”
The New York Times
Jeanie Linders’ Menopause the Musical is presented by HIT’s Founder and CEO, Christine Harris; award winning actress (Amy Carson in Carson’s Law) and recipient of the 1997 Victorian Entrepreneur of the Year Award and 1999 Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame inductee. Menopause the Musical is part national touring to be undertaken this year by this prolific company, HIT Productions, which has produced, as part of its 37 touring productions since 1999 such successes as Hotel Sorrento, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Love Child, Educating Rita, The Club and many more.
“Most women know intuitively that every other woman is experiencing memory loss, night sweats, or hot flushes but when they are in a theatre with hundreds of women – not just a few sympathetic friends - and all are laughing and shouting ‘that’s me’ then they know what they are experiencing is normal. They aren’t crazy. It becomes a sisterhood.”
Jeanie Linders, Playwright

Melita Chen
Six Aussie blokes, young and not so young - Doug, Blue, Wag, Ray, Snow and Spud - held prisoner by the army of a people whose language and customs they know almost nothing about: their world has vanished. To survive they have to re-invent themselves! They take classes in everything from advertising to vitamins, they scrounge, pilfer, improvise, build and conceal radios, and quite apart from building the Burma Railway under horrendous conditions, they organize sports carnivals, mount theatrical productions and create everything from false teeth to surgical instruments - and end the war by playing a cricket match!
